From day one, I’ve always imagined holding a website in my hand. Back in 2006, when I started making sites in Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver, it just felt like the right way to think about the web—something you could interact with directly on a device, no extra layers. The iPhone was starting to take off, and while MySpace was making waves, what really drove me was how natural it felt to design for mobile first. Native apps? Not really my thing. The open web has always been where I felt at home, building experiences that anyone could access instantly. That’s why Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) make so much sense to me—they’re fast, mobile-first, and don’t need any downloads to give people the full experience.
